Making the world better with Googly Eyes
Hello again, dear reader. And hello to anyone new here, who’s reading this via the Substack web.
In case you're new here, I'm Alastair Johnston and you're receiving this email because you subscribed over at my blog or via a link from Substack. I'm grateful for you giving me some of your time and attention and hope I always inform or entertain you here. If not, please feel free to unsubscribe, I won't be offended.
Here’s this week’s updates and things I’d love to share with you all.
Accidentally discovering Eyebombing
I recently found out that a silly, juvenille thing that myself and my 11yr old have been doing for a while, using googly eyes, is a thing. Eyebombing. It’s not a difficult concept to understand, but it really does make the world a happier and nicer place. I wrote a blog about it here.
Sabbath Watches
I had some lovely comments about my earlier post Wearing a Sabbath Watch. One was an email from my internet friend Nathan Hale, whose blog is always on my feed list, and rocks a pipe better than any other Anglican priest I know. I’d recommend you having a look.
The City that Fell of a Cliff
We’ve all seen pictures of houses taken by the sea, as coastal erosion eats away at the land. Howabout a whole city! This is the story of the city of Dunwich, that was eaten by the sea off the Suffolk Coast.
School for Scoundrels
After a busy day today, luxury was taking 90 minutes and re-watching the brilliant School for Scoundrels. I’m a massive Ealing and early British comedy fan. And strangely enough Terry Thomas and I shared the same school.
That’s it for now. Be kind!
